Nitric Oxide Emission Reduction in Reheating Furnaces through Burner and Furnace Air-Staged Combustions

چکیده
In this study, a series of experiments were conducted on testing facility and real-scale furnace, for analyzing the nitric oxide (NO) emission reduction. The effects temperature, oxygen concentration, amount secondary combustion air investigated in single-burner system. Additionally, NO-reduction rate before after modifications both burner furnace air-staged evaluated reheating furnace. air-to-fuel equivalence ratio (λ) individual zones was optimized NO reduction without any incomplete combustion. results indicated that controlling λ single-zone decreased linearly with decrease values firing tests (top-heat, bottom-heat, bottom-soak zones). Moreover, multi-zone control at 1.13 (top-preheat), 1.0 (bottom-preheat), (top-heat), 0.97 (bottom-heat), (top-soak), (bottom-soak). condition, reduced emissions by approximately 23%, as comparison data obtained modifications. Thus, combined application combustions facilitated NO-emission

Evaluating Heat Flux Profiles in Aluminum Reheating Furnace with Regenerative Burner
Abstract: Properly understanding heat flux characteristics is a crucial prerequisite to efficiently applying a regenerative burner in an aluminum reheating furnace. A series of experiments was conducted in this study in order to establish a database of the best available burners according to furnace temperature, excess air ratio, and flame combustion mode as they affect heat flux characteristic...
متن کاملFuel Savings for Slab Reheating Furnaces through Oxyfuel Combustion
With high fuel prices, fuel-savings technologies can provide significant economic benefits to steel mills. Reheating furnaces in integrated and mini-mills consume approximately half of the natural gas used to produce hot-rolled products. Recently, Praxair’s Dilute Oxygen Combustion technology (previously demonstrated for productivity improvements on mini-mill billet reheating furnaces) was exte...
متن کاملNumerical Model of Steel Slab Reheating in Pusher Furnaces
The difficulty in measuring load temperatures inside reheating gas furnaces may be circumvented by appropriate use of on-line numerical models. In this article we describe a model of pusher furnaces, used to reheat steel slabs. The model uses thermocouple measurements at fixed positions inside the furnace to calculate the temperature of the combustion products, and takes into account radiative ...
متن کاملImplementation of Models for reheating processes in industrial furnaces
Components were developed for the modeling of industrial furnaces in the iron and steel industry like pusher-type and walking beam furnaces. A cell model on the basis of the dynamic pipe model of the Modelica Fluid Library was designed. The cell model computes the heat transfer between furnace walls, flue gas and the processed steel goods. The radiative heat transfer is modeled by a 1-dimension...
متن کاملNitric oxide in exhaled air.
Much interest is now being focused on measurements of nitric oxide (NO) in exhaled air. In healthy subjects exhaled NO seems to originate mainly in the nasal airways, whereas the contribution from the lower respiratory tract is low. In certain inflammatory airway disorders, the excretion of NO into the airways is altered resulting in changes in the levels of NO in exhaled air. New techniques ha...
